Introducing the Internet and Internet Safety
In the Computer Lab, students were introduced to the internet and learned about internet safety. They learned when you are on the internet you can reach people anywhere in the world. A web of yarn was created to demonstrate communication on the internet. While sitting in the circle facing outwards, students learned how we can't see each other while on the internet, but they can still talk to each other. Some of the additional rules that they learned were:
Rule 1: Only use the internet with an adult nearby
Rule 2: Don't eat or drink near your computer
Rule 3: Never put your name or picture on the Internet
Rule 4: Never tell anyone on the internet about your family, where you live, etc. (they're strangers)
Rule 5: Don't enter contests on the internet or don't click on anything that says you won a prize
Rule 6: People on the internet are strangers! tell your parent or an adult if they make you feel uncomfortable.
Rule 7: Use manners on the internet
